In January of 2015 my brother Darren had asked me to join him in a visit with Tanya at youridealdiet.ca – Ideal Protein Authorized clinic. I had been interested in Ideal Protein plan for a while as I have seen other people go through it. So I have agreed to check it out. It was only supposed to be a consultation but I already knew before my visit I was joining as this was the boost I needed. And so it began. Tanya and her then other coach Darlene showed me the entire plan and I was off. I was surprised at how simple and easy it is was as there is little to no working out for most of the weight loss journey.

For about past 10 years I have been type 2 diabetic on the maximum dose of diabetic, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol medications. My family doctor was sceptical at first but was continuously lowering my mediations throughout the plan until one day he said: “Ok, it is time we remove the remainder of your medications.” I have never felt so free in my life. I remember the day my M.D. put me on medications and said: “Ok, you are type two now”. At that point I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders but that has all been lifted by my wonderful new friend Tanya at youridealdiet.ca who took the time to coach me through the plan. I will remain in contact now and for as long as I need to maintain my weight as I don't ever want to go back to the way I was.  Thank you Tanya for giving me my life back.

In January 2012 I joined Ideal Protein after a recommendation from a friend as she was having great success on it. I was a little apprehensive at first, knowing I had tried other programs and was not successful. I met with Chris on a Saturday afternoon for my initial consultation, and I was amazed how many people came and went to pick up product while I was there.

I went home and thought about it, and decided now is my time. I started the program on January 22, 2012 and followed the program exactly (No Cheating!!) and it really worked!! Even if I didn’t lose the full 2 or 3 pounds a week, I would always lose inches. I have now lost 40 lbs and a total of over 30 inches!!

I joined Ideal Protein in May 2014. My mom had done program the year before, and had recommended it to me about 6 months ago, but I couldn’t follow program because I was still exclusively nursing my daughter. She turned 1 in Feb 2014, and so as I returned to work and was still struggling with losing the weight post-partum, I thought I’d give IP a try. I was uncertain I’d be able to follow program, as I am incredibly picky, but thought it was worth a shot. As it turns out, program was far easier than I thought it was going to be!! I struggled a bit at the start, just trying to find my groove, figure out the foods I liked and didn’t like, but within a couple of months I had my favourites down, and was enjoying the weight loss. I lost 53 pounds in 5 months, and while I’m enjoying the smaller jeans, I’m more grateful for the knowledge and skills I learned. Learning how to adjust some of my bad habits, and discovering a better way to have a better relationship with food, will help keep me on the right path.

Darlene and Tanya are so supportive, and are always there to answer your questions and make program as easy and hassle-free as they can. They understand how hard it is to struggle with food, and they are there every step of the way through each phase, including phase 4. I look back at my before picture, and can hardly believe it’s the same person. I’ve recommended IP to many family members, and now all together, we have a fabulous support system. It feels good to be healthy!

I heard about the ideal protein diet from my wife, who came home one day and mentioned it to me.  Her co-worker had, had great success with the program, so of course I had to check it out.  In the past I had tried many different “life-style” eating diets and weight loss programs, and each one had good results, but like everything, they never lasted and the weight came back on after a few short months.  They also lacked other essential elements that the ideal program had; daily coaching videos for all phases, cooking videos (tips and tricks to cooking) right up to the prepared meals you can purchase off the shelf. Of course most importantly, the weekly weigh in and personal coaching.

I’ll admit, the first few days were the toughest, from the headaches due to a lack of sugar intake and just not being able to snack at any time throughout the day.  It was a tough regime to get used to, and although short lived, as I look back on the time I spent on the ideal protein diet, and through perseverance, the results for me came and I am glad I chose this program.  

In total, I lost (on my scale) 22 lbs, my clothes are looser and I feel much better overall.  It’s a good idea to set realistic goals, unlike myself….I was trying to get back to my original weight of 6 lbs 7 oz.’s.  Unfortunately I don’t think I will ever get there again, so, really 20+ lbs is perfect!  All kidding aside, my goal is still to lose an additional 8-9 lbs which, should be fairly easy.  After all, I now know what I can and cannot eat and like many of the others before and after me, you’ll have one of the best coaches out there, thanks Tanya!

I’m in the maintenance phase of the program and am continuing to lose weight slowly.  I found that by using the apps that were suggested and MS excel, I was able to create some helpful worksheets to assist me in keeping track of my daily numbers, so as not to go over.

I feel amazing, sleep great and have lots of energy. I've tried many diets but this works for me. I'm 61 years old, post menopausal with a lung condition which requires me to be off and on prednisone. Zenovia and Tanya are awesome and supportive. I find it affordable since my grocery bill has gone way down not buying junk food and eating fast food when on the road. I'm a nurse and always on the go. I find this eating plan doable for me. I do miss my wine but I know when m in phase 4 I'll be able to savour my glass of wine. Thank you Zenovia and Tanya. :)

Before: Over the last two years I have tried crash diets and many different types of exercise classes such as zoomba, boot camp and simply working out at the gym but nothing helped me reduce my weight. Over time, due to my excess weight I began having pain in both my knees. At the time I was caring 152 lbs. on my petite frame. I was avoiding seeing my friends and stayed away from any function or party as I was not comfortable with the way I looked. I was also completely overwhelmed with how much I needed to lose.

The Change: In March of 2017 I had X-ray and MRI done for my knees and my doctor told me that everything was Okay. He suggested that my weight was the main cause for the pain. And when I realized that I am in a bad shape at the age of 35, I decided to research my options and try to lose weight. I found Ideal Protein in the middle of April and booked an appointment with Tanya to plan for my weight loss. I didn't want to face any physical or emotional issues in the future and gave myself a few months to lose weight. 

The Lifestyle: I gave up soda and carbs, and filled my plate with veggies and Ideal Protein food as per designed Ideal Protein program. Tanya's personal attention and timely follow up on me helped me a lot to stay positive and energetic. Designed online video access and online body graph for my body composition gave me so much information. By the end of two weeks I have dropped 5.6 pounds.

I am vegetarian and I hardly like exercise and because of the food choices allowed on the program, I found this weight loss method is perfect for me. By September 2017 I lost almost 20 lbs. and by October it was 25 lbs.

Now: I like to go and meet my friends and family. I feel confident to wear whatever I like. I love to eat vegetables without spices now. I love when people around me giving me compliments on my figure. I have no idea now what is knee pain and how bad it was. I recently went to a conference were I ran into a lot of old friends, the first response was “wow” the second was you’re not sick are you?  Darren: “No, never felt better in my life.” Some of these people I have not seen in some time. But even others like my brother in-law didn’t recognize me at first, proof positive the ideal protein diet just simply works.

I began my weight loss on my own just watching my diet and cutting out everything the internet told me to, so really my diet was not balanced and worked to a limited degree. I lost weight but stagnated at 205 lbs, I just couldn’t get pass that barrier. I started my new job and saw Steve for the first time in a while and “wow” are you sick? Steve: “No I’m on the ideal protein diet.” After Steve told me about the diet and he was proof it worked, I signed up.

The best part of the IP program is it is dead easy, I’m a busy person and really don’t have a lot of time to prepare meals and follow complex meal plans. This plan was simple and I followed it to the letter because it’s easy to follow and lost 40 more pounds. I’m now in phase four and eating a balanced diet, the discipline I gained from following the IP plan has carried over in to my maintenance. My entire goal was to lose the very unhealthy organ and belly fat, my doctor told me, “whatever you see on the outside, there is that much or more around your organs”, that was enough to scare me. There is a history of diabetes in my family and I don’t want to get it, if it is avoidable (type2). I will continue to do my part in avoiding this illness.

The IP plan has helped other members of my family directly and indirectly. My brother is on it and has lost a tremendous amount of weight, good going brother!!! The rest of my family is just eating better food as a result of being offered food that is allowed in the menu. I came across “youridealdiet.ca” in the summer of 2013.  I was a sceptic and concerned with how well it would work.  I was not one to try new fad diets and wanted to lose weight the old fashion way but kept “falling off the wagon” as it is said.  With encouragement from my Doctor, what did I have to lose? 

In April 2014 I decided to try the IP diet but in my mind was sure I was going to fail.  To my surprise it was easier than I expected, far from easy, but it was simple.  It was common sense that we all know but do not put it to use. 

The one thing “youridealdiet.ca” offered that I was missing trying it the old fashion way was putting that common sense to use and amazing support for those not so amazing days.  The support I received from youridealdiet.ca Team kept me on track and helped me change lifestyle, while still being able to enjoy life and ALL the food that is part of it.  Yes I said food, I still need to pay attention but I do enjoy food more now than I ever did when I was overweight. 

Even with all the ups and downs I have gone through gaining the weight and now losing it, I have found a new love for life and more important I have great support even though I am in phase 4 ”youridealdiet.ca” makes a point of still supporting me making sure I never gain that weight back.

Before starting Ideal Protein my entire body hurt all the time. I couldn't sleep at night from waking up sore, and I couldn't get through the day because I was always tired. I had hit rock bottom and I was miserable.

I had not heard very much about Ideal Protein, but had seen the results of one of their clients. After doing a little research I wasn't completely sold on the program, but knew I had nothing to lose in trying it.  There was still that voice in the back of my head telling me I could never do this program because I was a carb junkie! Boy was I wrong....

Within a couple of weeks I knew it was the right path for me. My energy level increased, my cravings decreased, and the weight began to literally fall off. I would say the biggest surprise about being on Ideal was that I truly was rarely hungry, the protein was keeping me full and satisfied.

To anyone who asks me about the program I always tell them that YES the program does work. It works if you set your mind to it and FOLLOW the guidelines. However, if it had not been for my biggest cheerleader (Darlene) I would have probably had a lot more stumbles along the way. Her support and encouragement every single week was one of the biggest keys to my success.

It has been a year and a half since finishing phase 4 and I still feel in control of my weight and my life thanks to the wonderful staff of Ideal Protein.

My journey began well over a year ago.  I weighed over 300 lbs.  I was in peri-menopause and gaining weight. I suffered from severe sleep apnea and was constantly exhausted.  I had trouble walking, bending over to tie my shoes and just doing daily tasks.  My blood sugars were high (pre-diabetic) and the Type II Diabetes writing was on the wall.  I suffered from hypothyroid and was constantly cold and tired. My hips, knees and feet  hurt all the time and I had GERD (a  medical term for Acid Reflux) along with a host of other issues not the least of which was depression for which the medication I was on caused….you guessed it, weight gain.  I had also undergone a lumpectomy for early stage suspected breast cancer, one of the risks associated with excess weight. My family doctor told me I had no self-control and he was making a referral for bariatric surgery.

I tried many diets over my lifetime and became a “chronic” dieter. I managed to achieve lifetime membership in one program; paid well over $800.00 initial sign up fees to be a lifetime member on another where I still needed to spend $200 per week on food; tried another program that had food delivered to me in packages that when opened smelled and tasted like dog food; went on another program that promised me weight loss if I ate sensibly and took all their herbs and supplements; went on cleanses; joined 3 gyms; went on a weight loss challenge promoted by one of the gyms; used over the counter “protein” meal replacements from drugstores, pharmacies and health food stores; went to a naturopath; tried acupuncture and other holistic treatments; hired a personal trainer at $700 a month and followed their exercise and food regime for 6 months; tried another prepackaged food system…you see the pattern.  Each time, I either lost and regained the weight quickly or, as time went on, I gave up as I would barely lose any weight and it was too hard to stay motivated.  I kept a food diary for a while and I was barely eating some days.  A doctor actually told me I was lying because if I really was eating as little as I was writing down, I would lose weight.  He was wrong and it was completely demoralizing.

In desperation I made an appointment with a doctor my friend had recommended. I sat in his office sobbing.  I told him I didn’t want to get up in the morning but my kids needed me to and that if it weren’t for my kids, I had zero reason to continue living. At that moment for me, life held absolutely no appeal.  I expressed the frustration of living with pain and fatigue.  I will never forget his compassion.  He looked at me kindly and told me that he could and would help me and that in a few months I would not recognize myself.  That was the beginning of my journey to wellness.

He recommended Ideal Protein.  I recall struggling with the financial commitment because I was a single mother who had just started working full time after the end of a marriage and our family needed every penny I made.  I decided that my health was more important and I could always find ways to economize and if I got healthier, there were things I could do to make more money.  I signed up in April then promptly did nothing! I waited to start.  My family doctor told me it would be a waste of my time and money and that he would continue with the referral for bariatric surgery.  It would be another 2 months before I stopped making excuses for why I couldn’t start and finally, at the end of June, I woke up and thought “today is the day!” I had made the decision to go for it.

My first week was amazing as I lost 16 lbs.  Thereafter, I averaged a loss of 5 lbs a week (due to the fact I was so large).  For reference purposes, the average weight loss for women on Ideal Protein is 2 lbs a week, so my progress was amazing to me.

Around this time I was blessed to be asked to accompany a family member to France in October, all expenses paid. I was excited to see where I would be weight wise.  I began to transition off the diet in September so that I would not be on the program in France (even though travelling with the protocol is very easy).  By October 1, I had lost a total of 65 lbs.  You can imagine my excitement when I got on the plane and didn’t need a seatbelt extender!  I literally cried from sheer happiness. I was still well over 200 lbs but I felt like the slimmest person. I had dropped 65 lbs in 3 months!  It was phenomenal.  I had loads of energy, no pain, and was off of my anti-depressants.  When I saw my family doctor before leaving on the trip, he looked at my lab results, then looked at me and told me to keep doing whatever I was doing.

I returned from France and after spending 3 weeks eating and drinking whatever I wanted (ooo la la French food and wine mmmmm), I was leery of stepping on a scale.  Turns out that resting and healing my pancreas meant that it handled the vacation well.  I only gained 1 lb and still lost body fat.  I was so pumped.  I started back on the protocol in November.

By March, I was down 125 lbs and feeling incredible. I cleaned out my closet, bought new clothes and then became a fanatic about telling people about Ideal Protein.  After a bit of a prolonged sales pitch, I managed to convince the clinic where I was being coached to let me start weight loss coaching the program part time as I am passionate about helping people get healthy.

I would highly recommend this program to anyone that has a hard time following a diet.

First of all I want say, I have never been on diet before. My experience with Ideal Protein has been great, the girls have been great to work with. They are very supportive and always there for advice when need be. Since I don’t like to cook, they give me meal ideas that are simple and easy to do. They are always giving words of encouragement, through the hard times.

I would highly recommend this program to anyone that has a hard time following a diet. The other thing I would like to mention is that Idea Protein food is very good, they also have treats that are out of this world, like chips and chocolate bars. I have found that since I have been on, that my food cost has gone down.

I heard of ideal protein before but it sounded too extreme so I didn't look any further into it.  For a few years I tried other programs or tried to lose weight on my own through healthier eating & exercise but always gained back some or all of the weight.  In March of 2015 I decided I needed something extreme.  I needed something strict with no room for error.  It took me a few times of checking out the program online or talking to friends who had success on Ideal Protein, but I finally did it.  I was determined that this was the last diet I would go on.  I started March 17, 2015.  The first week was tough!  It seemed so difficult to me.  I wasn't sure what I could eat and what I couldn't eat.  On the 4th day I had a terrible headache all day, but knew I was going to do it no matter what.  I was not giving up.  When I went in for my 1 week weigh/measure I had lost 11lbs!  That was all I needed, to see that it worked.  The second week was much easier and by my 3rd week I figured I could do it forever! 

I was strict, and made every effort to be prepared each day so that I wouldn't fall off track.  Having cut vegetables or carrying protein bars with me in case I needed a snack while out instead of turning to old habits at the drive thru. 

5 months later I had lost 60lbs.  I have broken so many bad habits & feel like I understand much more about how my diet effects my body.  I just had my first indulgence day and it was great!  I had some of my favourite things that I had been missing or craving in the last few months.  Although it was delicious, I didn't like how I felt afterward.  It was an instant reminder of why I started this diet and why I'll never go back to the way I ate before. 

Now I'm in the maintenance phase, and like every phase for me it started out challenging but it's getting easier every week.  I feel like how I eat now just makes sense.  I remember hearing other people describe this diet and saying if they could do it, anyone could.  Now that's how I feel, if I could do this, anyone can!  Now my goal is to maintain this weight and I feel like it is possible!  I will continue to watch what I eat because it's what's best for me.  And I will continue to go into youridealdiet.ca and make sure I do not get off track.

Eight months ago a friend of mine told me about a diet that she and a couple of her friends were having success with. I was intrigued as I have always struggled with my weight all through my adult life. She gave me the information and I set up an appointment for a consultation at "youridealdiet.ca" in Edmonton. After a few days thought I decided I’d be able to fit it into my schedule with my new job and I committed to the diet.

I set myself up and started my ideal protein journey whole heartedly. I wasn't sure how things would go but I was pretty sure the weight would come off if I followed things strictly. As the weeks went by, the weight started falling off. I found an old love of cooking again and started getting creative in the kitchen with the ideal protein products. As time progressed I was losing steady and knew I was finally going to get rid of this fat once and for all. I even pegged my journey "operation get not fat" and created a social media page documenting my meals and recipes. 

I began to share my recipes with the youridealdiet.ca office and staff as well on my weekly visits. And I continue to gain support from the staff, friends and followers on Instagram. As of January 2015 I'm down 103lbs in 8 months and feel and look like a new man. And I owe this to my ideal protein journey.

I first heard about Ideal protein 2 years ago and thought to myself that I wouldn’t be able to do this program.  In January I decided to give it a try.  I have to admit it has been pretty effortless.  I believe if you are mentally prepared that is success to the challenge.  On my journey each week it’s been surprising, sometimes with big losses and other weeks with smaller ones, but still losing.  It’s still working. 

While these changes were taking place, my eyes didn’t register the transformation taking place.  As I looked in the mirror I was still seeing the same shapes (because where you want to lose seems to come off last).  Who knew there is even a word for this called body dysmorphia! 

Every week I come in for my weigh in and am pleasantly surprised as I think every week “I just hope the scale does not go up” so I am happy when it goes down.  With Tanya’s help each week, she guides me through my cravings with recipes that curbs those foods that I want. “Amazing”. 

The other point that has helped me is the eye candy (desserts) that I’m not having at social functions.  I approach my friends/family that made them and ask if they will make it for me in the future.  Of course they always say yes. Mentally I know I will have it later and I can wait!  Soon I will be able to cash in but not all in one shot or I might never get off Phase 1!

Ideal Protein seemed like the answer when at work I noticed my coworker (who had just lost a bunch of weight) eat more for breakfast than I ate food in a day. I wondered how she could eat that much when I felt I was starving myself and yet, my weight was steadily climbing.  My weight problems came to a head when I went to Whistler this summer and decided not to watch what I ate.  I gained at least 10 lbs in 5 days.  On the second last night we were there, I had felt so bloated, I had chest pains, and generally didn’t feel well. I had most of the symptoms of a heart attack.  It was time for a change.

When I returned home, I talked to my coworker and she told me about the benefits of Ideal Protein. I had tried Weight Watchers in the past and a few others, but I was always hungry and the weight came back.  I was assured that I would not be hungry on Ideal Protein. She said that this plan would reduce my fat, it would reset my metabolism, and I would be able to eat more and weigh less. I had to find out for myself.  I found an Ideal Protein location close to work: youridealdiet.ca Clinic on 99th Street. 

There were 3 things I wanted:

  1. Fat loss, especially around my belly
  2. Not feeling hungry
  3. Learning how to eat, so that I could indulge once in a while and still maintain a healthy weight.

Ideal Protein was exactly what I was looking for.  Some people say Phase 1 is hard, but I felt great and I was never hungry.  Moreover, I was never craving food.  During other diets, I would dream of and plan for my next meal. 

The weight during Phase 1 was coming off fast.  I lost over 20 lbs in less than 3 months.  Most of the weight was from fat, and most of that fat was around my belly.  As a result, I was happy with how I looked before I reached my initial goal. I only went down one size in my jeans, but there was no more muffin top!

Now on maintenance, my metabolism is revived and I can now eat so much without gaining weight.  I feel like I’m cheating some times, but my weight is the same the next day.  The best part is that I am healthy, and I’m happy about how I look.  I also know how to eat to maintain the weight, and because I learned to prepare many yummy vegetable dishes, I still eat these today.  Thank you to Tanya at youridealdiet.ca, who coached me through this transition and taught me so much.

I was introduced to Ideal Protein by my cousin whom I hadn’t seen in quite some time. I couldn’t believe how great she looked. I asked her how she did it and she told me all about the Ideal Protein Program.

The Ideal Protein Diet has been life changing for me. It has helped me change my lifestyle by changing the way I think about food. I have lost 54 lbs. in approximately 7 months and I have been able to maintain my current weight for over 3 months. My energy level has increased, I am no longer huffing and puffing after climbing a flight of stairs and I feel good about myself and can look in the mirror and not be disgusted with what I see. I also no longer require my high cholesterol medication.
